What we do
Enabling children to reach their potential
Happy Home Kenya Trust (HHKT), is a UK based charity committed to supporting disadvantaged children in Kenya. Our largest project to date involves support of Happy Home, an orphanage in Kopere, near Kisumu.
We assist young people in need of:
and anything else that we feel can help provide a child with a better future.
The Spring newsletter is now available. We are grateful that with help from Wellboring, we now have an operational borehole that deleivers water to Happy Home from a handpump. Download the file below to read it.
One of the things that we are encouraging at Happy Home in Kenya, is the establishment of micro businesses. The aim is to empower local people to generate income for the Home and through it for themselves as employees.
Below you can see Michael Owuor who is the tailor at Happy Home. Michael uses sewing machines donated by TWAM and shipped to Kenya by them. The children in the photograph are Happy Home residents who attend Ogen primary school and you can see the quality of the clothes that Michael produces in the photographs. In this case, making the school uniforms at Happy Home, saves money for the orphange.
This microbusiness has been set up with the aid of tools from TWAM and a donation from the Time to Sew Missional community at Burlington Baptist Church, to whom we are grateful for the support.
