Update from Happy Home (October 2026)
It’s all go at Happy Home! The base and the walls are now up for the classroom and they hope to have the roof early on in October. They now have 5 permanent classrooms and 5 temporary ones.
The trustees have just heard that they have received approval for the school becoming a boarding school. In order to comply with the approval, they now have to renovate the windows in the dormitories by changing the fixed windows to windows that can be opened in case of fire. They are looking to bring 17 primary aged children back to Happy Home as boarders for the new school year in January.
The trustees are holding a day of prayer on Wednesday 21 October for the 10 pupils in Grade 6 who will be sitting the National Exams that day in order to progress to Year 7 of Junior Secondary School. Following on from the day of prayer the trustees are coming together to look at fixing the budget for next year.
The new borehole is waiting for a water pump and solar panels to be put in place. After which, water pipes will be laid to the dormitories and the kitchen. They are also looking to re-start growing vegetables once they have running water and any excess will be sold in the local market. They also intend to sell some of the water at a reduced price to the local community which will be of great benefit to the local area.
For prayer:
the children of Happy Home and for the Guardian Families
the 10 children sitting the National Exam that will take them up to Junior Secondary education
the completion of the new classroom
the completion of the borehole
the revival of growing vegetables at the Centre
the trustees and staff of Happy Home
Give thanks for:
the provision of finance for the building of the new classroom
the vision and hard work put in by the trustees who give their time and energy and expertise freely.
for the Kenyan Church who have provided the resources in order that Happy Home has clean water at no cost to them.
