A new well!
Local personal connections created a contact with an organisation called Water for Nations. Water for Nations is a Christ-centred organisation dedicated to providing clean, safe, and sustainable water solutions to underserved communities in Kenya. Since 2015 they have drilled over 50 wells providing clean water to over 40,000 people. And now they have drilled one more at the Happy Home site!
The site at Kopere is a challenging one for drilling. Underneath the soil is hard volcanic rock. The team began drilling on the 12th September. The drill bit got stuck at a depth of 175m and it took around a day to release it. After that it was a matter of installing the casing and a pump and the well provided water on the 16th September!
The project was sponsored by a church in Kenya, who will also support the regular maintenance of the well in the future
