Political changes and consequences for ordinary citizens

Updated: Jun 30

After two terms and ten years in power, President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya is standing down from Office as president. Elections to choose a new President will be held on 9th August this year. In the past these elections have led to a great deal of violence between rival party groups, which in turn has led to many people being killed.

To bring that home, a number of the children currently supported through Happy Home are only in need of that support because they lost one or both parents through earlier political unrest.

This year a William Rutu and Raila Odinga are the two men who are running for Office of President. Please pray that any violence between the supporters of these two candidates will be quickly contained wherever arises. And that the authorities will not allow any unrest to spread or to get out of hand.
